Product information "EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC 2" O-III Nebula Filter"
One of the most important obstacles for the exploration of the night sky
is the brightening of the night sky by artificial lights, such as
streetlights. The night sky is not really dark in the vicinity of towns
or cities, which reduces the visibility of objects beyond the solar
systems enormously. Depending on the type of the celestial object it is
possible to increase the contrast dramatically by blocking the annoying artificial light.
The EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC O-III filter uses a characteristic property of the so called emission nebulae.
Those objects glow in special colours, the so called emission lines.
Those emission lines are linked to chemical elements - in this case
oxygen. The EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC O-III nebula filter blocks all other colours (and thereby nearly all of the artificial light) and only the two emission lines of the oxygen can pass the filter.
The result is astonishing: suddenly nebulae are visible at locations
that were completely empty without filters. In suburban skies for
example the veil nebula NGC 6992 is almost not visible with a 200mm
telescope. By using this filter you can see the nebula and its
structures without problems. A must for every visual observer.
The EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC nebula filters come with a individual test certificate - your guarantee to receive a premium filter.

Field of application [Telescope-filter]:
Filter for Deep-Sky Observing and Astrophotography
Besides air turbulence, the brightening of the night sky is the biggest obstacle to observing faint objects beyond the solar system. Street lamps and other artificial lighting mean that the sky in human settlements is no longer really black. This affects the contrast and thus the perception of deep-sky objects. Depending on the type of celestial object, however, part of disturbing artificial light can be filtered out, making it easier to observe fainter targets. The EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC CITY LIGHT SUPRESSION - or CLS - filter uses the fact that the artificial lighting is not evenly distributed over the entire spectrum. These colours - in the case of the EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC CLS nebula filter, above all the typical colours of mercury and high-pressure lamps, used in street lighting - are suppressed, but the emissions of deep-sky objects are allowed through. With a slightly brightened sky, some relatively bright deep-sky objects are practically invisible with a telescope, for example the large galaxy M101. Using this filter makes observation much easier. A must have for any visual amateur astronomer. The CLS can also be used as a useful photographic filter - helping to improve the quality of your telescopic deep sky photos. The EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC nebula filters are delivered with an individual test report - so you can be sure of receiving high-quality filters.SPECIFICATIONS:eliminates disturbing light - e.g. from street lightingenables observation of faint deep sky objectsWHAT'S INCLUDED:1x nebula filter

Universally usable variable polarizing filter with a 2" filter thread. This variable polarizing filter allows for a continuous adjustment of the image brightness. This is very helpful to level strong differences in contrast of different observation objects individually. Particularly for lunar and planetary observations but also for solar observations this filter prevents an outshining of details.Solar observations ONLY together with an adequate solar filter !!! Particularly when a Herschel wedge is used and with large objective lens apertures the use of the variable polarizing filter can reduce the brightness of the observation object to a confortable level. The large adjustment range of 40% to 1% light transmission and the neutral grey filter effect create a comfortable and unadulterated image. The handling is very simple. The desired filtering level is set by turning the two sides of the housing against each other.A 2.0" filter thread on both sides (female/male) allow for the simultaneous use of additional colour filters.FEATURESvariable polarizing filterindividually adjustable image brightnessmade from high-quality optical glassblack anodized aluminium housing2.0" filter thread on both sidesSCOPE OF DELIVERYpolarizing filterprotective box
With teleextenders it is possible to extend the effective focal length of a telescope system, resulting in higher magnification for the observation of the moon, the planets or small Deep-Sky objects with the same eyepieces. So you can use the advantages of eyepieces with longer focal length - such as the bigger eye distance and the more relaxed observing comfort - at high magnifications also. These teleextenders incorporate a telecentric optical design that deliveres a excellent image sharpness over the whole field of view and are premium choices for visual observations and astrophotography. LPS filter L-Pro for deep sky nebula constellation photography. The relentless spread or urbanization and its associated light pollution
have become a growing problem for all amateur astro photographers. The
current solutions to the problem can be expensive and might include the
purchase of a monochrome camera, several types of narrowband filters and
a filter wheel. Especially with inexpensive newtonian telescopes,
double-lens ED refractors or even achromats, the L-Pro filters open
up completely new possibilities for the capture of high-class
astronomical images even out of the light polluted city. CMOS cameras
can deliver images like monochrome cameras. This new generation of
filters makes it possible to take amazing astrophotos directly from the
light-polluted city with all its artificial light sources.
L-Pro is a multi-bandpass filter which offers better color balance by
maximizing the transmission band. The balanced transmission allows
astrophotos to be taken with minimal color cast to broadband emission
objects such as galaxies, reflection nebulae and globular star clusters.
L-Pro is the best choice for light pollution suppression. L-Pro description L-Pro
(L-Professional) filter is designed to improve the visibility of
various deepsky objects. By selectively reducing the transmission of
wavelengths of light pollutants, specifically those produced by
artificial lightings including mercury vapor lamps, both high & low
pressure sodium vapor lights and the unwanted natural light caused by
neutral oxygen emission in our atmosphere (i.e. skyglow). Together with
the highly transparent in main nebula emission lines at OIII (496nm and
500nm), H-beta (486nm), NII (654nm and 658nm), H-alpha (656nm) as well as
SII (672nm), the filter is suitable for enhancing the contrast and
details for both visual and photograghic purpose at sub-rural areas with
heavy light pollution.
Main use and performance Suitable
for visual observation and astrophotography.
L-Pro filter has a very low transmission reduction rate against
continuous spectrum space objects, and thus is quite effective in
suppressing light pollution sources when shooting galaxies, reflection
nebulae and globular star clusters. The same holds true for visual star
observations.
L-Pro filter alone can suppress infrared wavelength, and thus can be
used at ease for ''L'' image shootings with CCDs.
Light pollution filters do not eliminate the effects of light pollution
or increase the object’s brightness. In many cases, they increase the
contrast between nebula and night sky, not brightening the nebula. WARNING: These nebula filters are not designed for sun observation. DO NOT LOOK AT THE SUN WITH THIS FILTER. You will go BLIND if you ignore this warning.Coating technology L-Pro has a multiple anti-reflective coating on the optical substrate. The L-Pro filter uses a precision coating based on ion deposition coating technology. This ensures durability and scratch resistance as well as stability on the CWL (central wavelength), which is not affected by temperature changes. Absolute precision and homogeneity of the coatings as well as maximum values for transmission in the passband and optical density in the off-band range are guaranteed for all filters.FEATURES Professional visual and photographic filter for astronomy Improves deep sky nebula constellation photography Best choice for broadband light pollution suppressionFilter diameter: 1.25 inch / 31.7mm Connecting thread: M28.5 x 0.6mm (Eyepiece thread 1.25 inch)Selected optical glass material Spectrum: 380-750nmSurface Quality: 60/40 (Refer to MIL-O-13830) Fine-optically polished glass to ensure accurate 1/4 wavefront and highest parallelism over the both surfaces High transmission at major nebula emission lines (i.e. H-alpha 656nm, OIII 496nm&500nm, SII 672nm and H-beta 486nm)Precision

Apart from air turbulence, the brightening of the night sky is the greatest
barrier to observing faint objects beyond the solar system. Due to
streetlamps and other artificial lighting the sky in urban areas is no
longer properly black. As a result, the contrast and thus the
perception of deep-sky objects also suffer. However, depending on the
type of celestial object, it is possible to filter out some of the interfering light making it easier to photograph the objects. The EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC H-Alpha filter uses the characteristic of the so-called emission nebulae.
These objects glow in certain colors, the so-called emission lines. The
emission lines are associated with certain chemical elements - in this
case the red glowing hydrogen. This filter blocks all other colors (and therefore almost all artificial light) and lets only the emission lines of hydrogen through. Especially the disturbing light of mercury and sodium vapor lamps is effectively blocked. The effect is amazing: Suddenly, nebulae become visible on the photos in places which appear completely empty without the filter. The EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC H-Alpha Nebula Filter has been developed exclusively for astrophotography. Especially in heavy light-polluted skies many emission nebulae are only visible and shown in full expanse on astrophotos when using this filter. The H-Alpha nebula filters make astrophotography near the city possible and the use leads to amazingly good image results despite the existing light pollution. A must for every urban astrophotographer. The EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC nebula filters are delivered with an individual test report - so you can be sure to get high quality filters. This filter's narrow passband of only 7 nm bandwidth works out

Do you already own a photo camera and would like to create impressive pictures of the night sky with the help of the long exposure or even make time-lapse pictures with little effort ? The BRESSER StarTracker Astronomical PhotoMount PM-100 is the ideal base. Not only for beginners in astrophotography, this mount is particularly well suited, but also the experts swear by a compact and easy-to-use mount to automatically compensate for the natural rotation of the earth. The built-in tracking motor rotates the saddle-mounted camera precisely against the earth's rotation and thus the stars remain in pinpoint shape even with long exposures. If you already own a sturdy photo tripod with a video tilt head you can use the photo mount's head directly with the 1/4 inch & 3/8 inch photo thread holes. The pole height (latitude) is then adjusted by the video tilt head. The photo-mount with tripod with carry-case and polar wedge are also available as a bundle - Product No.: 4964120 Which cameras are basically suitable for use with the BRESSER photo mount ?
All cameras with ¼ inch (6.3mm) tripod connection thread and bulb length" B "for long exposure are suitable.
The BRESSER StarTracker Astronomical Photo Mount PM-100 is designed for a camera with lens of max. 2.0 kg total weight to carry and track in polar mode. In Azimut mode also a camera weight up to 5.0kg is possible. Large aperture, wide-angle lenses are ideal for the beginning, because the requirements for tracking accuracy accumulate with increasing focal length and exposure time. Thus, a shot with wide-angle lens can be exposed for up to several minutes and the stars remain punctiform without problems. For example, with a 200mm telephoto lens the polar alignment of the photo mount must be exactly right. But thanks to the integrated pole finder tunnel, this is done quickly.
After setting up the light and compact StarTracker Photo Mount, simply set the approximate latitude (pole height) and aim Polaris through the integrated pole finder tunnel. Then mount the camera with the photo lens using the quick-release plate on the supplied ball head. With the ball head, the camera can be aligned and determined at any time on any section of the sky. As soon as the tracking motor is switched on, long-time exposure can be started immediately. This does not even take 5 minutes ... The tracking is carried out by a precise stepper motor, which can be controlled by an easy digital setup on LCD screen. Low power consumption allows up to 20 hours of operation with just one battery charge or simply use the micro USB port for an unlimited power supply.
